Chester Patchworkers and Quilters (Ps & Qs) is a group of about 65 members who enjoy patchwork and quilting. Some members are new to the craft and other members of the group are very experienced so we have a wide range of ability. However, we are all passionate about fabric and creating items of interest and beauty, so we hope that all members can gain confidence in being with like-minded folk to enjoy and develop their skills.
We hold meetings at 7.30pm on the third Wednesday of the month, usually (but not always) at the Village Hall, Heath Lane, Upton, Chester. The hall is open for us from 7pm so that we can browse and purchase fabrics before the meeting from our traders, Dot Sherlock and Marion Barlow. (Check programme for venue.) 
We have a varied programme of activities. We may have talks from speakers of local, national or international renown in the fabric art world. We hold two or three daytime workshops a year. On these occasions, our Wednesday evening meeting may be followed by a workshop on the Thursday when the Speaker becomes the Tutor. We aim to make these days fun events as well as learning experiences.
We may have project evening meetings when we cut and sew, developing practical skills and sharing knowledge and techniques. At most meetings we have a ‘Show and Tell’ when members may show their finished projects so that we can all get pleasure and inspiration from their efforts before the items are given to the recipients. 
We make quilts for the Project Linus initiative, which are donated to children in distressed circumstances. In between times, we may put on exhibitions and displays to promote our patchwork and quilting. We may also group together to attend exhibitions further afield. It can be quite exciting to see fellow members’ quilts on display – or your own!
We welcome new members so please come along to one of our meetings to see what we do. There will be a small charge but you will enjoy a warm welcome and see some exciting quilts and patchwork related items. We hope that you will like what you see, catch our enthusiasm for patchwork and quilting and, join our group.
All meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month - except August and start at 7.30 pm. We usually meet at Upton Village Hall except in March and November so please check the location in the programme before leaving home.
