The title of the meeting was "I wish I'd known that....". This was a question and answer meeting where members shared their tips and tricks for enjoyable and successful quiltmaking. Click here to see a report of the topics which were covered.

Great Northern Quilt Show, Harrogate
Several members entered quilts into this show and many of them were winners!
August 2009
Festival of Quilts, Birmingham NEC
(59" x 59")
Group Quilt on show at Festival of Quilts. This was made to celebrate the 25th birthday of the group. Members were asked to make 2 blocks from pre-selected fabrics, one of which was silver, to represent our Silver celebration.
July Meeting
We donated the hexagon quilt to Mr Meakin who had asked the group to make something with a large collection of hexagons made by his late wife June, some sewn together into rosettes and some just stitched over papers. We also gave him about eleven fabric tote bags and 3 cushions decorated with hexagons.

Christleton Village Show
We were invited to show some of our quilts at the annual village show and we decided to let people see some of the quilts made for the Linus initiative before they were distributed.

Coffee Morning to celebrate the first Annual Quilting Day.
This was a very successful local event which enabled us to show our quilts and to stitch together with our friends for a morning, in Mickle Trafford Village Hall. We raised £90 which sill be shared by the local branch of The Alzheimer's Society and PS and Qs funds.

After the official business of the evening we were entertained by members Catriona on her harp and Sue on the viola as they played traditional folk tunes.

We also welcomed Val Neeve during a visit home from Australia. She was one of the original members of the group, pictured here with Mary Ranby, Lynn Hillier and Val Shields

Monthly meeting was entitled 4 Corners. Four members each showed a different method of applique:  Marion Barlow demonstrated machine applique | 
Rosemary Allison showed the freezer paper method |

Dilys Fronks gave hints and tips for the needle turn method |
and Michele Boyd encouraged members to try the hand stitch method |
